Gay meditation

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Buddhists (the group formerly known as Queerdharma) will hold their annual Mardi Gras meditation day on Saturday 22 February. The theme is Peace in the midst of chaos and it will focus on how Buddhist mindfulness can help people cope and make a useful contribution in a time of increased international tension. The day will include opportunities to explore different kinds of practice including both walking and sitting meditation. Patrick Kearney from the Blue Mountains Insight Meditation centre will lead discussion in the morning and Bante Tejadahmo from Sanga Lodge in Petersham will lead the group in the afternoon. Both are highly gifted teachers and will provide insights useful for both beginners and experienced meditators. The day will be held at the Pride Centre, 26 Hutchinson St, Surry Hills, from 10am to 4pm. Donation $5/$2.
