Lobby AGM reminder
Members of the NSW Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby are reminded to attend the group’s annual general meeting tomorrow night at Benledi House in Glebe.
The Lobby will release its 2008-2009 annual report on the night.
Membership in the Lobby will also expire on the eve of the AGM, so the Lobby encourages people to renew their membership for the 2009-2010 period at the meeting.
The election of the Lobby’s Committee of Management will also take place on the night. All members are eligible to vote for nominees or nominate themselves as candidates. Those wishing to nominate themselves must contact the Lobby’s returning officer, Lisa Newman, before the AGM.
The Lobby is proud of its efforts over the past year, campaigning on a wide range of issues at both state and federal levels, including lobbying the federal Government prior to its amending 84 pieces of legislation to remove discrimination against same-sex couples.
The new management committee will be responsible for deciding whether the Lobby formally joins the Same-Sex Marriage National Year of Action campaign.
