Arron Light inquest adjourned

The inquest into the death of Arron Light has been adjourned for three months, to allow police time to investigate new information.

An unidentified person has come forward with new information on the case, which has been deemed of “such significance” that the coroner has adjourned the case, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Light was believed to be working as a male prostitute at The Wall before going missing in December 1997, days before he was due to give evidence in a court case against Frederick George Rix, who is alleged to have sexually assaulted the teenager.

Rix has accused Light’s legal representatives of deliberately trying to delay the inquest, and demanded access to the sensitive material — a request that has been denied by the Deputy State Coroner Jacqueline Milledge.
