Aussie web series kicks off LGBTI-themed streaming service

THE world’s first LGBTI-themed streaming service is set to debut with the fifth season premiere of Australian web series Starting From Now.

Starting From Now explores the ‘L’ of the LGBTI acronym, focusing on four lesbians in Sydney. It’s not so much about the whole sexuality thing though, but the human stories of regular people living their lives.

The fifth season premiere is the start of the home stretch for the series.

If you’re not on this particular bandwagon yet, you might have some catching up to do. Thankfully, every episode is available on the show’s YouTube channel for all your binge watching needs.

You will find yourself in good company if the show resonates with you. Starting From Now has had 25 million views from more than 225 countries across the world since it began in 2014.
It’s proven so popular that it has even been broadcast on Australian television.

Starting From Now is the perfect example of where a creative team understood their audience and how to find them,” Mike Cowap, the Investment Manager for Screen Australia said in a statement.

Screen Australia contributed funding to the show’s fourth and fifth seasons.

To celebrate the imminent launch of the new season and the show’s new found availability on REVRY, a screening will take place on July 12 at the Los Angeles LGBT Centre.

REVRY’s CEO and founder Damien Pelliccione had nothing but kind things to say about the series.

“Based on our belief that stories have the power to change the world, we knew that Starting From Now was a powerful series that we wanted to introduce to new audiences using the open source world of mobile streaming apps,” Pelliccione said.

“We are excited to feature this groundbreaking series as part of launching REVRY’s immersive and authentic content experience for our community and beyond.”

The season five premiere will debut on July 5 on Revry.tv.
