A new picture book to help children fostered by same-sex carers

ONE of Australia’s longest-running charity groups has published a picture book that aims to be helpful to children fostered by same-sex carers.

Called A Place In Your Heart, the book was written and illustrated by Melanie Lee and produced for The Benevolent Society.

It follows the story of Trisha, who moves in with foster carers Tom and Jake. The book celebrates diversity in families with the universal message that children need a loving home.

One of The Benevolent Society’s many services is to help children who are disadvantaged, and to make them thrive with strong families.

The organisation only has about 500 copies and they are only charging postage to anyone who would like a copy. To order one, contact them directly by clicking here.
