Library to get LGBTI collection

Marrickville Library and History Services will this month launch two new collections at Marrickville Library, including the library’s first committed LGBTI section.

The LGBTI collection will include novels, reference books, self-help materials, memoirs and other non-fiction.

It reflects the diverse community that makes up Sydney’s inner west, an area that is home to many gay and lesbian-specific community-based organisations.

Also to be launched is a Graphic Novels for Adults collection, comprising classics such as The Great Gatsby and True Grit, together with modern comic book series (V for Vendetta), autobiographies (Blankets by Craig Thompson), weekly comic strip serials (Tamara Drewe), and other graphic novels (Cuba: My Revolution).

The collections will be launched at a morning tea on Tuesday, February 14, 10.30–11.30am at Marrickville Library, corner of Marrickville and Petersham Rds, Marrickville. Everyone is welcome. RSVP is encouraged on 02 9335 2173.
