Ashley shines at Diva

Ashley shines at Diva

Kings Cross was awash with sequins, feathers, high heels and big hair on Monday night as drag’s night of nights, the DIVA Awards, dazzled at The Bourbon.
The venue was packed with drag queens, drag kings, community leaders and supporters who all witnessed Trevor Ashley walk away with a swag of awards, and the adorable Chelsea Bun inducted into the DIVA Hall of Fame.

  1. Congrats to Sydney’s fabulous Drag Queens who do a wonderful job and keep our scene alive. With that said, I must know say how dissapointed I was in he venue. It looked awful, we were like sardines, they ran out of wine glasses in the first hour of the event.
No drag entertainment and what entertainment there was could not be scene.
Bring back Mitzi or Candy Box to host and a bigger venue.
    Bring back drag shows!

Sorry guys this event was embarrassing!! Poorly run and managed. (I really wanted it to be great. Sorry I am only telling the truth.

  2. Congrats to Trevor and also to Chelsea for Hall of Fame, both their speeches were fantastic, very gracious.

Next year, a bigger venue please, and maybe not the third DJ, who decided that awful, crash-bang, explosive, non-vocal and extremely hard music was appropriate for the DIVAs – he cleared the floor and the room almost instantly!

Overall though, well done to the DIVA team for carrying on this important tradition.
