Carl Katter has teamed-up with lobby group GetUp! for a public service announcement advocating marriage equality.
Talking about his struggles growing up in a regional community and the need for equality in all aspects of the law, Katter urges viewers to speak to their local member about their own experiences and desires for equality.
The gay younger half-brother of federal MP Bob Katter spoke to Channel Ten’s George Negus last night about his brother’s anti-gay and anti-marriage equality views, admitting the comments were “hurtful”.
“It’s dangerous, it’s damaging and it’s really inappropriate,” he said
“[He] doesn’t give any support to his argument by perpetuating hate.”
