Culture Club to reform

Boy George has revealed plans for ’80s super group Culture Club to re-unite next year for a new album and world tour.

The pop icon, currently on the promo trail for his new solo album Ordinary Alien, spilled the beans in an interview with UK morning show BBC Breakfast.

“We’ll be doing a proper, sort of huge worldwide tour,” the gender bending pioneer announced.

He also told the interviewer than fans can expect a new album.

It’s been a busy couple of years for Boy George with legal woes, a new solo album, a critically acclaimed feature on Mark Ronson’s hit single Somebody To Love Me and now a Culture Club reunion.

Fingers crossed he brings the tour to Australia – and perhaps a Mardi Gras or Sleaze Ball performance?

  1. wow can`t wait for the new cd album by culture club.
as i have all there albums on cd.

i have also seen boy george live in australia in melbourne at the former metro nightclub now called the palais.

i hope culture club tour australia on there world tour in 2012.

  2. Love Culture Club and wish them all the best. But how can anyone say George still has the same voice? He can still sing but he sounds nothing like the 80’s records now so I don’t know how well this will do. George’s voice is much deeper and raspy now. George doesn’t look the same at all anymore. He is quite overweight and not so attractive now.
Simon Le Bon sounds the same as he did in the 80’s. So not sure how anyone can say he was bad live.

  3. i thought spandu ballet were actually quite good on there comback after all those years, not a bad performance at all, unlike duran duran, yes i do like hem but seeing them sing live was appalling,no good, yet did some great records, best for them to stay in studio rather than live. but culture club, well. have been a massive fan for years, have everything they evr made, brill, and followed george from day one and stll follow hugely. went see him live last year, and although with his own band still performed some culture club hits, as well as his own material,he was brill, not lost it,instantly recognisable, was that good that for a moment i thought he was actually mimming to a tape. but of course not. still had th voice and could do the numbers no problem. was brill. so yes when reform will be excellent

  4. Sounds Interesting, hope they are recognisable, unlike Spandau-Ballet on “Sunrise” singing live, the lead Singer was struggling,he had put on all this weight and aged badly plus he looked like he was going into Cardiac Arrest when the song finished.
