THE Star Observer reported earlier this month of Hallmark’s poor decision to change the lyrics of ‘Deck the Halls’ of a Christmas ornament that they had for sale on their website.

Altering “don we now our gay apparel” to “don we now our fun apparel”, the company, who have since apologised, said they did not want to cause offence to some of their customers who may not celebrate Christmas in the multiple-meaning “gay” way – but rather a more modern “fun” way, which was the original translation of the 200-year-old carol when it was translated to English.

Everyone’s favourite lesbian TV host Ellen has taken her own unique look at Hallmark’s ornament, and turned the tides to make Christmas gay once again.
