Rebecca Black does Leno
Internet sensation Rebecca Black has appeared on Jay Leno’s talk show to perform Friday and discuss her overnight fame.
The 13-year-old ‘singer’, who has racked up 40 million views on YouTube and been declared a genius by Lady Gaga, told Leno that the avalanche of bad reviews stung but also said she had been offered words of encouragement by Simon Cowell, Nicole Richie and Will Smith.
She then rated a couple of Friday parodies before performing the song herself.
Unfortunately, the track started playing before Rebecca could raise her microphone – revealing that she was lip synching.
Probably not the triumphant moment she was hoping for.
