The return of Paul Lekakis

The return of Paul Lekakis

Gay ’80s pop star Paul Lekakis has dusted off his microphone to record a new single.

Ironically titled I Need A Hit, the singer’s latest effort is a catchy collaboration with American dance producers Massi & De Leon.

It’s a fun, upbeat tune that should prove popular with Paul’s fans – many of whom have stuck around since the late ’80s glory days of Boom Boom (Let’s Go Back To My Room).

That classic anthem remains the openly HIV+ pop star’s only hit, but he has carved out a successful career as an actor, appearing in gay films like Hellbent and Circuit. He has also released a fitness DVD and appeared in several theatre productions.

But back to his latest endeavour. I Need A Hit should prove popular in clubs and the video proves that Paul can still turn heads in his mid-40s.

  1. What do they mean “One Hit Wonder”? Are these people nuts? What about I Need A Vacation, Let It Out, Fruit Machine, etc. Where have you people been not to hear his great music since the 80’s.?

  2. Paul never left…he’s always been on our radar.
“I Need a Hit” just cements that his talent lingers and do I need to mention how amazing he looks? He makes the forties look like there twenties!
