Video boosts Beyonce interest

A day has passed since Beyoncé’s Run The World (Girls) video debuted on Vevo and it has already been viewed by over three million people.

And the impact of the Francis Lawrence-directed clip on the song’s chart position was immediate.

In Australia the track moved from 47 to number 26 on iTunes, while the result in America was even more remarkable. In less than 24 hours Run The World (Girls) jumped from number 165 to 32!

With high profile performances on Oprah’s farewell show and the Billboard Music Awards on the horizon, there could be a lot of life left in the year’s most polarising love it or hate it anthem.

And while opinions are still divided on the song, the video is drawing almost universal praise.

Check out Idolator’s review round-up, which features Australian blogs Pop Trash Addicts and The Prophet, to get some idea of how the clip is being embraced.
