Welcome back everybody,

The new year is well and truly underway and I’m seeing 2013 in with a broken wrist. I was on the high wire – well, I was high and I was wired – and that’s all I’m saying on the matter.

It’s going to be a busy summer by all accounts and for those of you planning some fun activities look no further than Melbourne as the Midsumma Carnival kicks off this weekend – and look out for yours truly on the main stage.

Of course, there’s plenty to do and see wherever you are in this great big gay nation of ours.

It’s all about Katy Perry at ARQ in their new tribute show to the pop diva. It’s quite the line-up too, with Minnie Cooper, Charisma Belle, Decoda Secret and Karen Kardashian all sharing the limelight. It follows on from Drag for Dollars and will make Thursdays the start of the weekend.

DJs Kitty Glitter and Alex Taylor will help to make sure of that, as will the early drink specials from 9pm-11pm. I can hear you all now, ‘TGIT: Thank God It’s Thursday!’ Chances are when Friday rolls around you might not be so loud about it.

The Final Beyond

It’s hard to believe that this is the final Beyond. Long considered Melbourne’s premier leather event – and with quite the history – it started back in 2000 and with five events being held every year. One of the main reasons it’s been so popular is the fact that they’ve always stuck to a strict dress code. That and from what I hear, some of the best looking leather men in the land. Expect this night to sell out before the night. They want to go out on one massive high and who can blame ‘em. Well done team and you enjoy yourselves, to infinity and beyond.

I’m giving you plenty of warning about Escape Bar and Club’s Australia Day celebration. They are opening up the deck for one big ‘Aussie Aussie Aussie’ day of fun. It’s time to start digging out your Speedos and bikinis and getting the zinc ready. When else can you wear your glittery thongs and stubbies? The one and only Miss Martini Ice will be hosting so you know there will be naughtyness a plenty. Especially as I know she’s more than a bit excited to be working with the Escape Bar Hot Jocks – I wish I could join you, my love, and we could share ‘em.
