George Michael to tour
George Michael has announced he’ll perform live in Australia for the first time since 1988.
In time for Mardi Gras, the ’80s icon will visit Perth’s Members Equity Stadium on Saturday, February 20, before heading to Sydney’s Sydney Football Stadium on Friday, February 26. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, December 8, at 9am.
Iconic diva Whitney Houston will also tour during Mardi Gras performing at the Hope Estate Winery in the Hunter Valley on Saturday, February 27. Tickets go sale Friday, December 11, at 9am.
Of course, with both icons in the country at the same time speculation about possible Mardi Gras performances is rife.
Of course New Mardi Gras is neither confirming nor denying the rumours about possible performances at the 2010 Mardis Gras party. But then, when did those rumours every have any basis in truth?
Let’s just hope that at least one of the two – though clearly both would be great as well – will give up their time willingly to ensure Mardi Gras 2010 is a season to remember.

I don’t care what anyone says – the man is a LEGEND. However, even legends need appropiate venues – look at Liza Minnelli. The SFS is just to big for him (no pun intended), and I feel his emotions and personality won’t come through to such an enormous stadium.
If you need to have the concept of taking the piss explained to you, then you probably have no sense of humour and didn’t get the joke. The thing about humour is no-one should be immune from it, particularly celebrity. And he took the piss out of himself and the cops in that video. Talk about getting a life.
