Björk’s tribute to Alexander McQueen
Icelandic pop star Björk has recorded a new song for a short film dedicated to the recently deceased Alexander McQueen.
To Lee, With Love is a return to the quirky singer’s haunting best.
The music is simultaneously nightmarish and beautiful, while Björk’s evocative voice injects the song with a sense of darkness and drama that McQueen would have appreciated better than most.
Directed by acclaimed photographer Nick Knight, the three-minute film warps some of the legendary fashion designer’s clothes into different shapes using a kaleidoscopic lens.
It seems only fitting that Björk provide the music for the project, after all Alexander McQueen designed the iconic cover of her 1997 breakthrough album Homogenic.
