Trans* teen Jazz Jennings the new face for Clean and Clear

HIGH-profile American trans* teenager Jazz Jennings has become the face of dermatology product company Clean and Clear.

Her role sees her part of Clean and Clear’s new marketing campaign #SeeTheRealMe.

Named one of Time magazine’s most influential teens in 2014, Jennings was diagnosed with gender dysphoria at the age of four and underwent gender reassignment at the age of five.

Since then she has made numerous high-profile media appearances, including an interview with Oprah and speaking at an event for US LGBTI advocacy group GLAAD.

In the TV advertisement, Jennings says: “The real me is happy and proud to be who I am, and I’m just having fun being one of the girls.”

The #SeeTheRealMe campaign asks people to send in their own personal stories to promote natural beauty, with Jennings’ personal story aimed to increase trans* visibility and acceptance.
