Melbourne man faces HIV charge

A 37-year old Carlton man has appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court, charged with trying to infect a person with HIV, The Age has reported today.

The Age said the court heard Damien Marc Lawson tried to transmit HIV to another person.

The report said Lawson has been charged with conduct endangering life for being HIV-positive and having unprotected sex.

The alleged offences were said to have taken place on May 28 and June 16 last year.

Lawson faces a committal mention in April and remains on bail.
