Midsumma DJ winner announced

Up and coming Melbourne DJ Emilio Capparella (known as DJ Emilio) will kick off Midsumma’s biggest party after winning the Midsumma National DJ Search for the 2013 T Dance party.

Caparella will warm up crowds for Midsumma’s T Dance, and join the bill with Zoe Badwi, Ruby Rose and Wayne G on January 13.

He intially took out the local competition in September against 11 other Victorian DJs.

The competition was then opened to the public for an online vote with candidates from Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart and Sydney.

“I’m absolutely speechless, I still don’t believe it I really don’t,” Capparella told the Star Observer.

“I couldn’t ask for anything better, it’s amazing.

“The pressure will be there but it’s good pressure to make me do the best that I can be.”

T Dance is held after Midsumma Carnival at Birrarung Marr Park.
