JOSH LORSCHY is a 15 year-old Sydney teenager who also happens to be an activist for world change via his Facebook page.

The budding photography, videography and animator recently set his sight on the marriage equality debate here in Australia as part of his latest social justice awareness campaign, by creating video calling on action for same-sex marriage equality. (scroll down to watch the video)

Josh created the video “because he believes in human rights, not for any other purpose”, his mother Michelle told Star Observer.

Writing on his Facebook page, Josh stated that “same-sex couples deserve and are entitled to the same rights as everyone else. Failure to allow same-sex marriage says that it’s okay to discriminate on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender”.

Michelle also told the Star Observer that her son has previously raised enough money to build two libraries in rural Cambodia for non-profit organisation Room to Read, which aims to improve literacy and gender equality through education in the developing world.

In 2013 Josh was recognised for his charity work that earned him a spot as a youth ambassador at Malala Day at the UN in New York.
