Dirty Minds
Disco funk nouveau. This has the old-school funk elements in it featuring slapping bass lines and echoed percussion with sweeping disco elements.

I AM NOT ALDEN
Dexter
This is quirky, pulsating electro with razor sharp beats and cyborg funk loops. It’s fun with that sinister mwhaha edge riding through. Dexter is the best around doing this type of hybrid electro.

DISCO INFILTRATOR
LCD Soundsystem
My favourite track from the new LCD Soundsystem album, it has crackling percussion, squelching bass and popping melodies with a smooth rock vocal. It makes you forget everything else around you -¦ I just wish it was a longer track.

STRAY SHEEP
Mutron
This is sci-fi electro which is eerily beautiful. It has the Space Invader sounds and the string space synths, which sounds cheesy as I write this but it is so beautifully layered and arranged that the only cheese here will be on your knickers after hearing it. Delicate electro at its best.

PUNKADELIC (Radioactive Man Remix)
Freq Nasty
Radioactive Man, a.k.a. Keith Tenniswood (who is also one half of Two Lone Swordsmen), is one of my all-time favourite artists. Here with his remix of Punkadelic for Freq he has not let me down. This is a dark electro break-beat cruiser that will drag you to the dark side and keep your hips jiggling with the funkiest of moves.
