DJ Lim Jeka, who will be playing at the Mardi Gras party on Saturday 4 March, gives us his favourite five dance tracks of the moment.

SUPER GOOD

Dab Hands

It was only a matter of time before this old classic was turned into a dancefloor track. They’ve taken all the live instrumentations and sequenced them into a dancefloor mover. With its live classic acoustics in the breakdown and rocking electric guitars in the peaks, this track really gets you moving.

I JUST CAN’T GET ENOUGH (Freemason’s Dub)

Herd ‘n’ Fitz

The title of the track is exactly what’s on your mind when you hear this tune. A truly uplifting song with enough mixes to suit a range of DJs. The Herd ‘n’ Fitz dub is a great mix. With a fat bass line, glamour electric piano and its cool electro vocal, this is a favourite for me at the moment.

BLUE WATER (Electro Funk Lovers Remix)

Black Rock

This Aussie duo has been doing some great work of late. This remix really does it for me with its progressive groove and fat house-electro beat. It has all the elements for a dancefloor bomb and this will get you breaking the floor down into a groove. As a DJ you look for a vocal and bass line to turn that groove into a stomp and the vocal needs to electrify the fuzzy senses. This track will take you there.

I CAN’T EXPLAIN (Steve Lawler Remix)

Bomb Dogs

This big room bomb has graced my box for over a year. Its driving progressive/ electro bass line keeps building up, then down into the sweetest breakdown. With synth strings and warm vocals, this one tends to hit you down there in that spot -¦ you know the one I’m talking about.

HEAVEN IS IN THE BACK SEAT OF MY CADILLAC

Louis Austin

Taken from the Hot Chocolate classic, this high-powered bass mix with analogue synths and original vocal stabs satisfies your dancefloor needs.
