DJ Terry Vietheer
DJ Terry Vietheer gives us his favourite five tracks at the moment.
He’s one of the DJs playing at Deckbar’s new Thursday night event Downtown, and on Wednesday nights he plays for Pure at the Colombian.
BEAUTIFUL DAY (Banzai Republic vs. Trentemoller vocal mix)
Laidback
Whether it has been going to the beach on weekends, getting home after a stressful day or enjoying the sunrise with loved ones after a night out, this definitely was the title track to my summer.
The guitar riff that draws you into the heart of the song is as powerful as the deep vocals that leave you singing well after the song has finished.
A STRONGER MAN (Single mix)
Ben Watt feat. Sananda Maitreya
After hearing stories of Notting Hill’s famous Lazy Dog (and for anyone who was dancing along with me to Ben Watt’s set at Good Vibrations), one can only imagine it would sound something like this.
Note the sounds of the saxophone blended in with the beat of the bongos in the middle. This man knows how to use his instruments.
DREAM MACHINE (DJ Fluid mix)
Mark Farina
Can this man do any wrong? I like how this song lifts you to different states of groove throughout its course. With Sean Hayes providing filtered vocals throughout, any dream is possible!
This is definitely one for flirting across the bar with a mysterious stranger.
MAKE BELIEVE (Album mix)
Kings of Tomorrow
As the opening track from his new album Trouble, Sandy Rivera continues to master songs of love and loss.
From start to finish, this track captures a heartfelt message as does his past dancefloor filler Finally.
POP MUSAK (Ian Pooley extended mix)
Mousse T feat. Roachford
After listening to Roachford’s album on high rotation on Mum’s stereo as a kid, I soon developed a taste for a man’s voice with a little soul.
A little extra is delivered here when a love interest is compared to pop music -“ fantastic!
It’s great to see Mousse T working with such great talent as well, with Inaya Day and Australia’s own Amiel featuring on his new album.
