HOW GAY IS CANADA?
About one percent of Canadians identify as homosexual, according to a survey released this week.
The Canadian Community Health Survey asked more than 83,000 Canadians aged between 18 and 59 years.
It was the first sexuality survey ever conducted in Canada. According to The Advocate, about one percent identified as homosexual, and .7 percent as bisexual.
Statisticians have raised doubts about the figure and the questions asked in the survey.
The Advocate reported a professor of anthropology and sociology at the University of British Colombia said there was no question of underreporting of homosexuality in the survey.
