Mallard: slow and steady
Shayne Mallard doesn’t mind being the third horse in the “two-horse race” that some are calling the lord mayoral election.
In fact, he quite likes it. Mallard compares himself to Stephen Bradbury, the legendary Australian speed skater who won a gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics because all of the more impatient skaters fell over.
“We’ve been working really hard behind the leaders, and Clover Moore and [ALP candidate] Michael Lee are kicking each other so well that they might get tangled up,” Mallard
