Homophobic attack at marriage rally
A violent outburst has marred an otherwise peaceful equal marriage rally in Melbourne today.
During a march from the State Library to the Old Treasury Building, Sex Party candidate for Ferntree Gully Martin Leahy was head butted and hit in the face after an altercation with two men – thought to be in their late teens.
Leahy and several witnesses told Star Observer the incident started when he saw two young males – not involved with the rally – hitting the costumes of two other marchers.
“I told them to leave it alone and that’s when they turned on me,” Leahy said.
Leahy, who is straight, said one of the young men used homophobic language, put his face close to his in an intimidating manner and then head butted him, and hit him in the face.
Leahy and other Sex Party marchers then chased after the man, who held up his hands in a boxing motion, but eventually fled the scene.
Leahy sustained injuries to the bridge of his nose and was quite shaken after the attack.
The rally was otherwise peaceful with an attendance of over one thousand.

Shouldn’t you be fighting for them? Isaiah has God himself speaking highly of Eunuchs. Are you pro-Transgender Ben? Because God is. And the discovery of the Transsexual Gene means they too are Eunuchs because they are born that way.
It gets worse Ben, for in biblical times it wasn’t just Intersex people, Transsexuals, and castrated slaves that were called Eunuchs, Gays and Lesbians were called Eunuchs too. And science suggests they are Born That Way. Made so by God.
Who is it talking in Corinthians and Romans about Gays Ben? God? No, though it’s Gods words in Isaiah. Jesus? No. Though it’s Jesus’s words in Mathew 19:12 An apostle? Yes, Paul. Just a student. @ben – I ask you this question, what evidence do you have that children are being taught sodomy? In what form is it being taught theory or practical and where. There are even gay bishops as you know, along with a Nobel Prize winning arch-Bishop who supports Same-Sex Marriage such as Desmond Tutu. This is not to mention many scholars even in Harvard University. And of the Christians who do not support Same-Sex Marriage many call for Civil Unions, that demonstrates an acceptance of the GLBTI community.
There is no need for anyone to answer you on questions of the Bible, you are not an expert. Just a person twisted with hate through your mental illness. You are delusional wanting to abuse people. Why would you expect anyone to take you seriously? That is the delusion.

The word Sodomy comes from Sodom & Gomorrah which is in GENESIS. About 4000 years ago. seeing as you seem to be using the bible to attack homosexuality, I shall like to point out what else the bible has to say. As it is written in Corinthians 13:4-8, 13 “Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way” Because it says “[love] does not insist in it’s own way” I come to the conclusion that the love between a man and a man, or a woman and a woman is good.
Secondly, I am skeptical on what the bible has to say on homosexuality. The reason for this is that the word “homosexual” wasn’t coined until the 1600’s. So in saying that, why would a 2000 year old document contain a word that didn’t exist 2000 years ago?
Thirdly, while we are discussing the bible, it says in Matthew 5:43-48)”But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven.” Why is someone who would appear to follow the bible, go against the scriptures, and be so full of hate.
Fourthly, I am curious to know what evidence you have to support your argument that homosexuals are trying to teach children sodomy. If you were to to do some open minded and unbiased research, you would discover that research is supporting the notion that sexuality is genetic. Some cases suggest that sexuality is determined determined before birth. Homosexuality isn’t something that one can teach, moreover, it’s something that that develops independently within the individual.
I can’t believe that in this day and age people still think that they have a right to perpetrate an act of violence against another human being I don’t care weather the person is gay/lesbian or so called straight. Ben says “marriage is vows made to God” – perhaps he has never realised that all marriage in Australia is civil marriage – any religious ceremonies that are attendant upon the actual marriage are entirely window dressing. No vows to God are in any way necessary – which is probably just as well, as most Australians do not believe in one.
I suggest that if Ben abhors same-sex marriage, he not participate (although, as such rabid homophobia is, according to various studies, not infrequently found in young males with homosexual inclinations, perhaps he should give it a try).
