Morrissey joins awards

Fashion designer Peter Morrissey and Foxtel’s Andrew Mercado are among the high profile guests who will join 24 finalists in the Ivy’s Sun Room on September 29, to recognise outstanding achievements within NSW’s LGBTI community.

Honour Awards organisers have also revealed more of the silent auction items that will be up for grabs on the night — including a business class trip for two to Macau with two nights accommodation at the MGM Grand; 12 months of cosmetic procedures and beauty treatments; clothing and accessories from Prada, Tom Ford and Abercrombie & Fitch; a private tour of the forthcoming Picasso exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW; and tickets to Placido Domingo, Dame Kiri, Elton John and Dolly Parton.

ACON Events Coordinator David Wilkins said the occasion would be a glamorous night of celebration, commemoration and silent auction bargain hunting.

“We’re delighted to be kicking off Sydney’s first ever Big Gay Weekend with a truly memorable occasion, not only for our inspirational finalists, but for all our guests whose attendance we’ll be honouring with a really sensational celebration of our community,” Wilkins said.
