Katie Underwood will perform live and D-Vinyl will be master of ceremonies, while the Candy Love Police will make sure everyone is having a good time, or else. Tickets are $30 in advance (Hum Records, Salt Clinic) or $40 on the door if not sold out. Advance ticket holders will avoid the queues.

IN THE DARK AT THE NEWTOWN

The Earth Hour performance of Dreamgurlz and the drag version of An Inconvenient Truth, both illuminated by torchlights held by customers at the Newtown Hotel, proved such a hit that Newtown Hotel will be making it a regular part of the line-up. Every Thursday, as Vanessa Wagner hosts the short film festival, the lights at the Newtown will be turned out, and stay out. There will be some torches handed out again, but mainly we will be keeping everyone in the dark as they so enjoyed it on Earth Hour night, Roger Z, licensee of the Newtown Hotel, told the Star. Earth Hour proved to be a great night for us and the crowd loved it. We didn’t stay dark for an hour, we stayed dark all night until we closed.
