A little help from my friends

A little help from my friends

With World AIDS Day coming up faster than we know, the Victorian AIDS Council/Gay Men’s Health is desperately calling for volunteers to help with the annual Red Ribbon Street Appeal.

AIDS Awareness Week begins Monday November 24, and concludes with World AIDS Day on Monday December 1.

VAC/GMHC fundraising coordinator, Carolyn Warren said the VAC/GMHC is in -œgreat need of people to dedicate a couple of hours from their day on Friday, November 28 for the ribbon appeal.

Money raised from selling ribbons goes to the VAC/GMHC for use in prevention, education and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS.

The World AIDS Day Memorial and Life Celebration Ceremony will be held at the Positive Living Centre in Prahran from 5.30pm on December 1.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day, with the slogan -œEnjoy Life. Take Control. Stop HIV calling on Australians to take personal responsibility for stopping the virus’ spread.
