Gay Indian prince heads to town

The world’s only openly-gay royal will visit Melbourne next week as part of an Australian tour to help improve HIV prevention work in the Asia Pacific region. Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, crown prince of the Indian state of Rajpipla in Gujarat, made headlines around the world when he came out in 2005. He’ll meet with government, health and GLBTI groups next week to discuss gay rights and the decriminalisation of homosexuality across the Asia Pacific.
