Ricki-Lee to kick off Midsumma
Ricki-Lee Coulter will be the surprise performer at this Sunday’s Midsumma Festival kick-off at Birrarung Marr.
Coulter will take to the stage at T-Dance alongside headliners the Divine Knights and a host of Australian DJs.
“I am beyond excited and extremely proud to be performing at Midsumma,” Coulter said. “I’m always so thankful of the support the gay community has given me over so many years and I love to give back.
“So as the sun set’s over Melbourne’s beautiful skyline we will party into the night together.”
T-Dance sold out last year with the biggest crowd in the festival’s history.
Prior to the party, the 2012 Midsumma Carnival will again mark the official opening of queer arts and cultural festival.
Staples such as Dulcie’s Dog Show and JOY 94.9’s live broadcast will accompany the official proceedings throughout the annual ‘picnic in the park’.
