Ass eating, elaborate choreography and a Madonna sample: Troye Sivan’s latest song Party comes with a castle and very few inhibitions.

Troye Sivan has arrived in shining armour. Whether anyone’s innocence survives the evening is another matter.

The Australian pop star’s new single Party comes with a lavish, sexually charged video that takes its medieval setting as an invitation to misbehave. The clip trades the modern nightclub for a world of knights, celebration and decidedly informal courtship, and in true Sivan style it is wild, sexy and has everyone talking.

Troye Sivan offers a royal invitation to misbehave

Sivan plays an armoured knight in a video that moves from the battlefield to castle party revelry, with Sir Ian McKellen providing the opening narration to make it just that little bit gayer.

The costumes might suggest a period drama, but the mood is considerably less restrained.

What begins as a fierce battle scene quickly takes a turn as a stern Troye Sivan returns to his castle with his fellow knights, and they’re ready to celebrate, just a little differently.

What follows borders on a medieval-frat-party-meets-orgy and it is glorious and queer as fuck.

Scenes oscillate from a sultry Sivan and his lover as they dance alone in a room, with the two undressing each other, passionately making out, leading to the talking point of the clip: Troye Sivan, eating ass.

Fans lapped it up, as did Troye, with the internet erupting over the sexy scene.

However, when Troye isn’t getting hot and heavy on screen he is performing in some outstanding choreography that fans are equally gagging over.

Choreographed by Sergio Reis, the group sequences bring together marching, fencing-inspired movement and of course, sexually suggestive choreography, with Sivan leading with an absolutely smouldering performance.

The song samples Madonna’s 2000 hit “Music”, giving Sivan’s latest release a direct connection to one of pop’s great dance floor invitations, a sampling that was personally approved by the queen of pop herself.

According to his label, “Party” also marks his first official release with his brother Tyde Levi, who co-wrote the song with Troye.

Fans go feral for Party

The fan reactions online have blown up, with the video racking up nearly one million views in just twenty-four hours.

“Troye Sivan hit us with Party vibes, gay, gay, GAY !!!!!!!!! HE TRULY LOVES BEING GAY” wrote one user on X.

“Troye Sivan just musically translated the sensation of rimming an asshole” wrote another more succinctly.

While others are simply calling Party one of the absolute best new videos.

“Troye Sivan has just released one of the best music videos I’ve ever seen, and that’s not even close to being an exaggeration. This is going straight into the gay guy music video night rotation.”

“no other pop boy is seeing troye sivan omg i’m sorry the gays just do it better”

And then, there was this guy who echoed the sentiments of many.

However, the comments keep coming back to that one monent.

Party follows August’s She’s the Best, whose video brought Nicole Kidman into Sivan’s clubland universe alongside drag performers including Sasha Colby. Von Steiner directed that clip too, continuing a partnership that includes Rush, Got Me Started and One of Your Girls.

The new releases follow his 2023 album Something to Give Each Other and the 2024 SWEAT tour with Charli xcx.

His fourth album, She’s the Best, arrives on October 9.
