Pride picnic
It’s picnic time again for Hobart’s LGBTI community. TasPride are inviting locals to dust off those tartan blankets, locate your mates, families, pets, and anyone else you can find, and head along to Parliament St Park for a grand afternoon featuring tunes and a BBQ. TasPride has been in operation for 20 years, spawning from a meeting in Hobart in December 1992 which discussed the possibility of establishing a gay and lesbian community centre. The organisation now produces the TasPride Festival each November, as well as hosting events throughout the year and publishing a regular newsletter.
