What’s On Sydney: Sydney Film Festival

Sydney Film Festival is back in 2014 with another stellar line up of films in this years program guide.

Kicking off on June 4 and running until the 15th SFF has just released it’s preview guide of what you can expect to see this year.

Films in the 2014 line up include the gay romance film Love is Strange starring comedic legend John Lithgow, Alfred Molina and Marisa Tomei. It shares the tale of a gay couple who after 39 years together, Ben (Lithgow) and George (Molina) are wed in New York under new marriage laws. Soon after, George is fired from his teaching job at a Catholic school, and the pair are forced to give up their comfortable lives.

Other film highlights in the SFF line up will include the original slasher film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, taking place at Blacktown’s Skyline Drive in on Friday, June 13.

SFF 2014 will also feature the world premiere of the documentary The Redfern Story which tells the story of the volatile birth of the first all-Indigenous theatre company, the National Black Theatre.

As well as Australian filmmaker Kitty Green’s fascinating documentary that follows the members of FEMEN, an infamously topless female protestor group of Ukraine who warrior against the countries patriarchy.
