ARQ’s Roman birthday bash
Taylor Square superclub ARQ is celebrating its 11th birthday with a Roman-themed party on Sunday, August 8, called XI (that’s 11 in Roman numerals, fact fans). Dust off your toga and get ready for a Bacchanalian orgy — of music, that is.
The venue’s main arena will be transformed into Circus Maximus for a huge line-up of DJs, spearheaded by hot Brit Paul Heron (pictured). Heron’s international DJ career has exploded in the past year thanks to high-profile remixes for the likes of Grace Jones and Empire of the Sun. Word is he’s even been enlisted to remix the Scissor Sisters’ next single. Joining Heron at ARQ are locals Dan Murphy, Greg Boladian, Jimmy Dee, Sandi Hotrod and Rob Davis. Entry is $10, doors open at 9pm.
