Freezone spikes the opposition

Fourteen teams took to the courts at the Olympic Park’s Indoor Sports Centre to compete in the Freezone Volleyball Mardi Gras Tournament at the weekend.
Team Big W won A Division, having performed strongly during the entire tournament.
Freezone team Dragons Sydney defeated both Melbourne teams to win B Division.
Sydney team, QF Rockets, won the C Division.
“The B Division final was a replay of the Midsumma tournament played in Melbourne, with consistency winners on the day,” Freezone Volleyball Club president Wally Salinger said.
“From the sidelines it was difficult to predict winners, with long rallies and equally balanced teams rising to the fore in various parts of the set.”
The Freezone Volleyball Club is currently organising a Gay Games fundraiser tagged Safe Sets Studs. Further details will be published in Sydney Star Observer in coming weeks.
