The founder of Twinks for Trump, Lucian Wintrich, was arrested while delivering a speech at the University of Connecticut entitled “it’s okay to be white”.

Throughout the speech the 29-year-old claimed that Africans were being wrongfully praised for wearing traditional clothing, and that illegal immigrants were negatively affecting the economy, the Daily Campus has reported.

Crowds of protestors attending the event shouted “black lives matter” and “f**k you” to Wintrich from the audience, prompting Wintrich to be removed from the room.

However, he was arrested for breach of peace on the university campus after he grabbed a woman from the crowd who had seized his speech on his way out.

He was held on campus for an hour as protestors continued to chant. When he was later escorted into a police car, students ran after him. He was released on $1,000 bail.

Wintrich spoke out against the protestors on Twitter afterwards.

“It’s really unfortunate that some of the kids at the UConn felt the need to be violent and disruptive during a speech that focused on how the leftist media is turning Americans against each other,” he tweeted.

“Tonight proved my point.”
