Iconic gay pop star George Michael, has put the rumours to bed and confirmed that he will perform at the Mardi Gras Party this weekend.

Media reports this morning confirmed Michael as one of the illustrious Mardi Gras performers. It had been suggested that Michael would fill the 5am time slot – though Sydney Star Observer understands that his order in the run of performances will happen earlier in the evening.

The announcement came as other headline acts also confirmed their position on the Saturday night running bill.

Drag superstar and DIVA Hall of Fame inductee Mitzi Macintosh is also believed to be doing a farewell performance on Saturday night.

While performing on So You Think You Can Dance last night, Adam Lambert confirmed his position at the party.

If there was any doubt left in anyone’s mind, the Mardi Gras VIP party, which brought together a glittering array of guests – Kelly Rowland, Adam Lambert, Amanda Leopre and Meow Meow – provided pretty strong indication towards the party performers.

SSO understands shows are scheduled for midnight, 1am, 2am, 4am and 8am – however has been unable to confirm this.
