New York’s gay marriage law in limbo

Days after a New York judge struck down the state’s ban on same-sex marriage, New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg said the city’s lawyers will appeal the decision in the state’s supreme court.

Bloomberg, who said he personally supports gay marriage, wanted “to expedite the appeal directly to the highest court,” the Court of Appeals, “so that people will have a right once and for all to know where they stand.”
