Beyond forced to change date

Beyond forced to change date

An issue with liquor licensing has forced Melbourne Leather Pride’s key event, the Beyond dance party, to change venues.
Celebrating its ninth birthday, Beyond was to be held at the Beach Nightclub in Sydney Rd. A liquor licence could not be obtained, however, and the Sydney Road Traders Association has also objected to the venue re-opening.
Beyond will now be held as a daytime event at Chasers Nightclub, South Yarra on Sunday, September 13 from 10am-7pm.
Organisers have apologised to partygoers and said those unable to attend the re-scheduled event can obtain a full refund from their ticket seller.
In addition, the Melbourne Leather Pride closing party will now be held at The Market on Sunday, September 27 from midday.

Support the Star Observer… while you still can

LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.

When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.

Don’t rely on the straight lies of big tech – support Star Observer instead and donate now.
