WAKE-UP CALL
If ever the gay community needed a wake up call or some home truths, this is it.
The Daily Telegraph’s Piers Akerman is so right in his article on Mardi Gras and the film Bruno and the comparisons it makes.
If the gay community wants respect, equality and acceptance from mainstream society, then it has to grow up, and fast.
The gay community must unite, show boldness and courage and announce that next year’s Mardi Gras will be the last and finally bring an end to an era of the past.
The gay community is never going to evolve or grow by hanging onto past events, like Mardi Gras.

BAD BRUNO
How much longer are we to be insulted, patronised and ridiculed by this creature, Bruno?
Why have gay organisations not counter attacked this stereotyping by a hetero man?
As homosexuals we can send ourselves up, wear our own make-up or drag, speak in our own tones -” that is our natural right.
What is not OK is this publicised creature lampooning us and pushing thereby at the social gains of past decades and caricaturing us as oddities -” all for commercial gain.
It’s time for gay leadership.

JUST HUMOUR
I think it is high time Gary Burns stopped claiming he represents the gay community with his almost weekly homophobia rants. He sure as hell does not represent me nor anyone I know.
His latest rant about the movie Bruno is the last straw. Everybody I have spoken to cannot wait to see the movie, and none of us give a damn that he is stereotyping gay men. It is humour Gary, so please get off your high horse have a Bex and a good lie down.
