Priscilla’s change hands

Commercial Rd venue Priscilla’s @ 153 has new owners with former owner Mitch Daly replaced by a new male pairing looking to freshen the bar’s line-up.

“We’re into our fourth week of the new owners, Danny and Jason. It was a very quick turnaround, and it’s been business as usual with no changes to staff and performers,” manager Alex Marton said.
“Danny and Jason are lovely guys and they really want to be a part of reviving Commercial Rd. They want to turn Priscilla’s into the top entertainment nightspot on the strip.

“They’re very pro-drag and want drag, along with other performers, to stay. They’d like to create some new nights and create some real buzz around the entire gay scene again.”

Marton stressed that punters shouldn’t expect any rude shocks now that the venue has changed hands, with any changes happening gradually.

“We’re looking at getting some new stuff happening on Wednesdays, and on Thursdays we’ll be starting up a brand-new karaoke competition as of February 25.”
