Frontrunners come in second

The Sydney Frontrunners came in second place at the annual Maroubra Fun Run on October 23, beating their nearest rivals by 12 minutes. But the Frontrunners were outpaced by a team from Maroubra LJ Hooker.
Frontrunner secretary Wayne Morgan congratulated the runners.

“It was hot and hilly but our team did us proud and came in second place,” he said.

Thirteen teams and almost 1000 runners competed in the community fun run.

Other LGBTI runners took out a number of individual place prizes within their age brackets. Jim Box won third place in the 8km race and Morgan snatched second place in the 4km heat. The best individual result went to David Beeby coming 18th out of 997 participants in the 8km run.

The Frontrunners will next compete in the 10km Balmain Fun Run on Sunday, December 4 and the 8km Brooks Spring into Shape series in Parramatta Park on Saturday, November 5.

The Frontrunners will host their 28th anniversary party on Saturday, November 19. They will also hold a run and swim at Clovelly followed by a breakfast supplied by the club on Saturday, December 3.
