Swap meet at Taylor Square

Swap meet at Taylor Square

The Giant Swap Party comes to Taylor Square again this Saturday, March 19, giving local residents an opportunity to trade some of their unwanted goods with fellow city dwellers.

Hosted by the Swap Party Collective and made possible by a City of Sydney Matching Grant, the Swap Party will be held at the Sydney Sustainable Market from 10.30am. By diverting items from landfill, and not buying something new, participants will help to save water and resources and reduce emissions.

Those wishing to participate in the swap meet are asked to arrive at 10.30am with three easy-to-carry, good quality unwanted items (no electronic items accepted). You’ll exchange each of your items for a token, and all items will then be on display until 11.30am, giving enough time to browse the assorted goods.

At 11.30am, the swapping begins, and you’ll be able to exchange each of your tokens for an item brought by someone else.

After registering your items to swap, just buy anything at the Farmers Market — which features seasonal fruit and vegetables, free-range eggs, organic bread, local honey and more — for over $5, and you’ll be in the running to win a Farmers Market hamper.
