Buffy’s BFF comes to town
Joss Whedon is a god to a generation of queer sci-fi fans: what homo hasn’t dressed up as Buffy or fantasised about Angel at one time or another? The screenwriter, whose latest creation is the web-based Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog starring gay dreamboat Neil Patrick Harris, is coming to the Sydney Opera House on August 29. Whedon will discuss the common themes in his work including strong women characters, outsider heroes and the uses and abuses of power.
