Stripping back Zola

Stripping back Zola

Robert Pacitti is known for taking a lot of risks in his plays, especially those inspired by controversial original works.

His latest, Finale, is a visceral work based on Émile Zola’s 1867 book Therèse Raquin.

Instead of simply adapting the plot and characters, Pacitti has brought 12 Sydney performers together to recreate the book’s themes: deception, lust, spite and domination.

Expect male nudity, Pacitti warned.

info: Finale will play 5-7 September, 8.30pm, at CarriageWorks, Eveleigh. Ticket prices start at $20, available via ticketmaster.com.au.
