A Tribute To Bowie – Various Artists

This 3CD collection is the first Bowie tribute album to be given the seal of approval by the Thin White Duke himself, and like him, it’s an eclectic, sometimes puzzling mix. Big names like Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflicts, leaving French first lady Carla Bruni as arguably the biggest star in a largely unknown selection. Bowie’s most enduring hits – Ashes To Ashes, Heroes and Let’s Dance among them – are all present, and proceeds from the sale of the album go to charity War Child.
