Bowling for charity

As part of last month’s Mardi Gras Sports Festival, Unbiased Bowling held its annual Lawn Bowls Barefoot Social Day to raise money for charity.
Over 115 people attended the event, including special drag queen guests Polly and Miss Genitalia, with $2000 raised for GLBT charity, Twenty10.
“Embarrassment was the order of the day and all in good humour, with the intention of raising funds for Twenty10,” Unbiased Bowling spokesman Peter Manson said.
“Playing in the late afternoon sun and then continuing under lights, there was a lot of competition amongst the various groups, arranged so everyone mingled.”
Unbiased Bowling is a lawn bowls sporting club open to anyone who enjoys the sport regardless of age, race, gender, sexuality or level of experience. The group meets every Sunday at the Marrickville Bowling and Recreation Club from 2pm.
