Britney Vs Gaga: you decide
With new releases scheduled within weeks of each other, MTV has posed the question, which diva will rule pop music in 2011: Lady Gaga or Britney Spears?
The Fame Monster has already revealed a February 13 release date for Born This Way, while Brit’s new jam – which may or may not be called Hold It Against Me – is rumoured to be hitting radio as early as this week.
It’s unusual for superstars to release new material this close together, particularly when their music is not entirely dissimilar and they share a common fan base.
The divas have even worked together in the past, with Gaga writing Quicksand (below) for Britney’s last album.
To determine who will win the biggest diva battle since Mariah and Madonna went head to head in the ’90s, MTV sought guidance from a group of pop music scholars.
Music journalist Julianne Escobedo-Shepherd weighed in for team Britney: “In the music sphere, I think that Britney’s gonna win.”
While RapRadar.com’s Elliot Wilson believes “it’s Gaga’s game to lose”.
In other words, this is too close to call!

i think gaga will win,hands down.there will be no contest. britneys had her day,and has to rely on publicity stunts to keep her career relevant,and going.she may have one or two sizeable hits,but thats about it,and at 30,shes not likely to win any new teen and pre teen fans.i dont mind both gaga and britney,but britney in particular will not have the long career of madonna.she cant really sing,and sure shes got the drive,and detirmination,but she doesnt have the talent.her much anticipated new album will have a high debut,but die a sudden death,much like christina aguilera’s last album did.if it wasnt for britneys clever media manipulation and habit of staying in the spotlight,she would have sunk without trace a long time ago.thats the reality.

Britney spears has more of a likable quality, Lady Gaga has been making herself too extreme and now really has to make her next album and her next move massive. And we never get a break from GaGa, With artists like Madonna we get her in full force, and then she dies away, and then she is back. Giving us the period to miss her and wonder when the next thing is going to happen.
But unlike her, GaGa has constantly been in the media and leaking new music and performing. Never really leaving the spotlight for the past 2 years.
Britney Spears has had an entire emotional breakdown a couple of years ago which got everyone rooting for her with her comeback for the Circus album, Many people are still rooting for her, and many more will be new fans and also have always loved and wanted the return of the pop princess she is.
And at only 28 she is sure to have many more reinventions and hits just like her own idol Madonna.
