Adam Lambert spoke to MTV about the follow up to his 2009 hit debut album For Your Entertainment before Monday night’s American Idol finale.

The pop star, who turned up to the event hand-in-hand with Finnish boyfriend Sauli Koskinen, revealed that he has already written 18 songs for his sophomore set and described the project as his “dream album”.

“I’m writing most of the material with people myself this time,” Glambert told the reporter on the red carpet.

“It’s really exciting because I think I’m making my dream album. I know that sounds a bit clichéd, but I’m making exactly what I want to listen to.”

Adam also confirmed he’s working with Australian singer-songwriter’s Sia and Nikka Costa – as well as renowned hitmaker Ryan Tedder.
